CEGA are very proud to have been shortlisted for the Investigation Team Of The Year (Independent Category) Award at the Insurance Fraud Awards 2009, taking place in October. 

With the worsening economic conditions and the increasing propensity for customers to fabricate or exaggerate claims, CEGA took the decision in early 2008 to deliver a business plan designed to increase fraud detection rates across all types of claims, including those relating to medical emergencies. 

A dedicated Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was set up and during its first year achieved spectacular results. The SIU delivered a 174% increase in fraud referrals, an increase of £1.04 million in fraud detection and a reduction in cost per investigation of 66%. All of this was achieved without compromising our commitment to 'treat customers fairly'.
