Simon Cook comments on industry fraud
Jul 21, 2009CEGA's expertise in fraud identification and investigation was recognised when Simon Cook, CEGA's Fraud Manager, was asked, together with other industry professionals, to comment on Post Magazine's article, 'Telling porkies'.
The article focused on the importance of ensuring that at a time when the industry is having to deal with an increase in fraudulent claims, customer service does not suffer. What steps are being taken to carry out efficient anti-fraud measures, whilst at the same time ensuring that genuine customers are not made to feel guilty.
Simon told Post Magazine that whilst fewer people may be travelling at present, suspect claims have increased. "We've had an increase in the number of insurers asking for investigations; there has been a definite move towards using experienced people to interview claimants, even if technology has flagged them up."
